If you’re like me, you went to school,  got your Bachelor’s degree and maybe you’re working on your Master’s degree and you’re just entering the field of Social Work. After you graduate, on the biggest questions you may ask yourself is, “What am I going to do with my degree.  You may even find that the jobs that you want aren’t hiring or the position that you envisioned, there is no demand in your area. So you’re finding that you have to work a lot of jobs that do not match your interest or the ones that do, pay significantly less than what you hoped.

In this video I discuss 4 mistakes Social Workers make when they are just starting out in the field of Social Work. Our profession can come with many challenges and often times we can second guess our decision to stay in the field. Whether you are doing direct practice, case management or another helping role, guarding against these 4 mistakes can help you in your social work career journey.

Meet Manicka

I created The Social Work Success Path blog and podcast, during the pandemic of 2021 to provide online education and mentorship for Social Workers. I felt very isolated and disconnected being only in the second year of running my private practice. I strongly considered going back to work when everything shut down. The resources and tools that I share helped me to maintain my practice through the pandemic and plan a successful transition as a Social Work content creator, doing work that I love and connecting with Social Workers all around the world. I did this in the span of 1 year, but using the resources, trainings and tools that I have pulled together, and all my all lessons learned, you can make your career transition much sooner than I did!
